One of their many interesting features is called “Max Speed Zone”. This will allow you to choose which data center to use when signing up for a business or VPS plan with InMotion Hosting. It helps a great deal with your website’s speed in case your content is relevant for a specific location. InMotion Hosting plans and pricing review
InMotion Hosting offers shared ( Business Class ), VPS and Dedicated Hosting. As you probably expected, each plan is divided into multiple options. In this way you can choose one depending on your website and objective.
The three available business class plans are: Launch, Power and PRO ( feature rich in that order ). All three plans offer unlimited space and bandwidth yet none offer unlimited websites hosted. You can host 2 websites on the cheapest plan, 6 on “Power” and 25 on the “Pro” plan. At first it might look as a downside compared to other providers, but don’t be too hasty thinking this way. We thought the same thing at first, but if you think about it, it’s actually the opposite.
Considering a shared plan is basically storing thousands other users on the same machine, the fact that InMotion Hosting does not overpopulate their servers can mean a speed and stability improvement. From my point of view this is a plus on InMotion’s side and shows that they focus on quality instead of quantity. I also received great feedback and reviews about this from other friends and colleagues.
Moving on to VPS, InMotion Hosting brings you again three options to choose from: VPS-1000, VPS-2000 and VPS-3000 each offering more than the other. The first thing you will notice is that there is no unlimited plan available. You can imagine an unlimited option for VPS and Dedicated would cost a fortune anyway, and 99% of the time you won’t need it. Compared to the normal shared hosting service where you are stored on (and i quote here form the InMotion Hosting support line) “a hangar of servers”, you will now be storing your website on your own private virtual server.
InMotion Hosting also offers dedicated services for professional and performance hungry websites. You can choose from multiple options, each of them offering more than the other. Same as VPS, your choice will depend on your project and the required minimum performance.
Currently InMotion Hosting runs on Linux servers and there is no Windows option available at the time this review was written. Cloud Hosting is also not available, with no information about it for the near future.
InMotion Hosting guarantees
InMotion Hosting guarantees an uptime of no less than 99.99%. They do not publicly offer an uptime chart, but from personal experience I can tell you that only short scheduled downtimes were encountered during our time with InMotion Hosting. Their network is constantly monitored by staff and a management system to ensure their customers are happy and that you don’t loose any online time.
InMotion Hosting offers a 90 days money back guarantee. You will however have to pay for the free domain you received if you decide to close it. Some charges might still apply in special situations depending on the site’s activity at that moment.
Customer support
InMotion Hosting offers one of the best customer support experience you will find. You can contact them by phone, email, live chat or post a question on the support forum. I only had good encounters with their support team with both post and presale questions. I used to work in customer support ( not for a hosting company ) so trust me, i know what good support needs to be. InMotion always delivered excellent customer support.
Live chat waiting time can vary depending, on the current queue. However, even though you are on a 10 minute waiting time, you will most probably be chatting with a support agent before the 5th minute is up. A little trick most companies use to deliver more than promised. When i wrote this review i got a response time of 1 minute.
You will notice that InMotion Hosting’s departments have fixed working schedule. However, the technical support service is available 24/7. A great plus for this.
Security and backup
InMotion Hosting does not play around when it comes to security and this is important in any review. About one year ago when there was a world wide wordpress attack, they implemented a server side firewall that stopped this particular kind of hacking attempt even before they reached our websites. They took action in a matter of minutes. They also called me immediately to inform me of the situation and recommended a few settings on my website to avoid compatibility issues with their new system.
But what happens if your website does get hacked ? InMotion Hosting offers free disaster recovery backups. A feature which in my opinion should be available mandatory for any host. Unfortunately it is not. So the fact that InMotion Hosting automatically backups your website regularly and offers this feature free on all business class hosting plans, is a huge plus from our point of view.

InMotion Hosting features and extras
InMotion Hosting offers access to the well known cPanel. This is available on any hosting type and gives you easy access to your website’s management area. From here you can easily install content management systems like WordPress, Joomla or Drupal with just a single click using Softaculous.
Although their one click install script is free of charge for business class plans, you will have to pay extra on VPS or Dedicated servers. Using InMotion hosting’s cPanel is easy and will allow you, besides managing you website, to also access and configure your email, enable sub domains and much more.
InMotion hosting tools
InMotion Hosting gives you a premium site builder so that you can build your own full featured website directly online, really easy, with their “What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get” (WYSIWYG) editor. Building a website will be as simple as choosing a theme adding content and publishing it immediately. In other words you will have your website online in a matter of minutes.
Once you get your website online you might want to promote your business. InMotion Hosting offers free advertising credits to give you a head start. Depending on your plan you will receive different credits.
