Introduction
To compete in the market of superior electric cars, the German brand BMW is planning to release a compact four-door electric model i4. This model is all set for release in 2020. BMW i4 is going to be an electrically operated model with warm, friendly and eco-friendly interiors. It is designed to provide pleasant assistance to five tourists. i4 will certainly draw in more potential audience majorly due to its polarizing abilities, classy finish, incredible performance and an ability to assist as the flawless offering.

Body and Chasis

BMW i4 is a compact executive car that comprises of a four-door fastback sedan. It has a longitudinal front-engine, all-wheel or a rear-wheel drive. It is based on cluster architecture.  BMW has confirmed that the i4 model will use light in weight construction to make it attractive in the electric market that is weighed down by heavy batteries. Such batteries diminish on-road handling.

The i4 model by BMW is almost half of the size and forty percentage lighter than the outgoing electric powertrain. The architectural design comprises of two motors where the large one resides at the backend whereas the smaller one only comes into action when the front tire needs power.

Powertrain

The all-new BMW i4 model comprises of an electric motor with a single-speed fixed ratio transmission system and power electronics in just a single component. It has inbuilt 90KWh or 120 KWh lithium-ion electronic battery pack. This model has an electric range of 550 km or 700 km.

Dimensions

Looking at the spy shots, it is revealed that the i4 has an exterior design that matches the 4 Series Gran Coupe. The stylish and electric sedan i4 has a long nose but retains its sleek curved roofline.

Speed

BMW has stated that this new electric model will accelerate from 0km/h to a top speed of 200km/h in just four seconds.

Hybrid and Engine

BMW i4 model exhibits an extended-sustained magnetic air conditioner and a synchronous generator system and a one-speed transmission system. This electric motor system will produce power of 170 HP and will mail out capacity to the back axle.

Internal design

Interior of this model is designed to be helpful and capable to accommodate five different tourists properly. This vehicle provides an outstanding luggage space. It has been speculated that the interior of this model is going to be as spacious as the BMW 3’series. The roofline of i4 will be quite dramatic as compared to the 3-series. It will offer a four-door-coupe body style looking like a large backend liftgate that opens to disclose a large cargo space as expected in the BMW 4-series.

Some of the interior features of the i4 model are the greatest and latest in-cabin technology that features a large-sized touchscreen infotainment system equipped with gesture-operated controls, a semi-autonomous driving mode, and a digital gauge display. Engines, Handling abilities and Ride

The i4 will be riding on the highly adaptable CLAR platform of BMW. By looking at the concept and spy photos of this car, it is expected that there will be two electric motors. One is going to be a standard level all-wheel drive, and the other one would be a battery-operated motor that is large enough to cover a distance of up to 350 miles. It is likely to be sporty and speedy. Summer tires are fitted in this model that resembles almost similar to the 4 Series Gran Coupe.

Safety features

To provide an enhanced level of safety and a peaceful driving experience to people, i4 model comes with below inbuilt standard safety mechanisms. Eight airbags (6 with convertible), four-wheel antilock discs brakes with adaptive brake lights, active anti-whiplash head restraints, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, dynamic traction control, and BMW assist e-call function that includes emergency requests and automatic notification of collision.  Side airbags are provided for front passenger and driver, crash sensor, and electronic vehicle immobilizer feature ensure the safety of occupants at the times of an accident.
