Nissan is a well know Japanese auto mobile manufacturer who are also one of the leading pioneers of electric vehicles for quite a few years now. The Nissan Leaf has been in the market for 7 years and the 2018 version of this car is smarter and provides better battery life. The car has been needing a refresh for quite some time and Nissan given it just that. The new 2018 variant now comes with a 150 mile range that is still lesser than the likes of the Chevy Bolt EV with a 238 mile range and the Tesla Model 3’s 220 mile range, what it is though is that its $5000 cheaper that the other two. There is also a model planned that can provide the car with a higher range of about 225 miles per charge that is to come out in the later part of 2018. There is also some new autonomous driving tech packed into this car and It starts at about $29,990.

  1. Chevy Bolt EV 2018:

Chevrolet makes all types of cars from economical hatch backs to all out super sports cars and now they also make EV’s and the Chevy Bolt has been around for quite some time and the 2018 variant is slightly improved. It offers heated seats and also a couple of other minor improvements and adds a small number of creature comforts. A fully equipped Chevy Bolt EV costs around $40,000 and gives a range of about 238 miles per charge.

  1. Tesla Model 3:

Tesla is the face of the electric vehicle industry and have single handedly pushed the industry forward in many a ways. They have now come out with the Model 3 which is their most affordable car yet. This is tesla’s vision of an affordable electric car that is aimed at the masses. It starts at around $35,000 for the base variant. Large scale roll outs of this car is expected to be made next year and there is also a huge demand for these cars with a total of 400,000 reservations as of august this year.

  1. Hyundai Ionic Electric:

Hyundai is also now part of the EV race with their ionic sedan that offers a range of 124 miles on a single charge and starts at around $29,500. The success of this machine though is in question because of the other cars in the same price range such as the Chevy bolt, tesla model 3 and Nissan leaf. All of which provide more range in a single charge and cars like the Tesla Model 3 also provide more upscale upholstery and interiors. The advantage that it has on its side is that it comes with a hybrid variant that could increase its range by quite a bit.

Audi E-Tron comes with a 95kwh lithium ion battery and has a promised range of about 250 miles per charge. The car comes with three electric motors that combined produce 496bhp. The car also comes with an all-wheel drive system. Audi is trying to create a strong EV lineup by 2020 and the E-Tron is a worthy first in that lineup.

  1. Faraday FF91:

 

Faraday future is competing in the premium luxury sedan market with the FF91. The car has a futuristic design that seems to be have been pulled right out of a sci-fi movie and it also has a ton of technology packed into it. It uses facial recognition to unlock doors and much much more. The car makes 1050 horses that allows it to make a 0-60 mph time of 2.39 seconds. The car also promises 300 miles of range on a single charge. This car directly competes with the Tesla Model S and sure has a lot going for it. This car could add a bit more flair to the EV market when it launches next year.

  1. Porsche Mission E:

The Porsche Mission E sedan debuted in the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show as a concept vehicle but was later confirmed for production. The car is expected to have a range of about 250 miles per charge. The highlighting feature of this car could be Porsche’s planned 800-volt DC charging system that can charge The Mission E’s battery by up-to 80% in a short span of 15 minutes.
