Volvo’s all-electric Polestar 2

Volvo’s Polestar brand is set to launch its all-electric vehicle in Australia from 2020. It is going to be a premium five door liftback style car that is considered to be a serious candidate to the authority of EV innovator Tesla. Polestar was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show for the first time. It was introduced as a 78kWh battery, with dual motors that offers 300kW power along with 330Nm torque. By targeting a 500km range, there are good chances for Volvo’s Polestar to be well recognized in the Australian market.

A considerable share of its production will be traded on a subscription program that includes car ownership basics that comprises servicing, cleaning and maintenance. Owners would not need to take their car to a dealership for servicing their staff. They will use a digital key for accessing, servicing and returning the car while its owner is at job. With an introductory price of $A63,720 (€39,900), in Germany, Volvo’s Polestar is thought to cost nearly $A90,000 for Australian users.

 

Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is expected to hit the Australian showroom in 2020. It is believed to be one of the highly desirable EVs present on the market. The Mission E concept was previewed at the Frankfurt Motor Show held in 2015. It was seen that this vehicle was capable of driving a 0 km/h to 100km/h distance within 3.5 seconds.

Porsche assured some of its technical details, by confirming that it is packaged with 2 synchronous electric engines that produces power more than 440kW. Looking at the Porsche’s obsession with optimizing driving dynamics along with its impressive stats, the Taycan is surely give a good challenge to the Tesla’s Model S P100D.

BMW iX3

After these grand models from top automobile firms, there is another impressive waiting to be released in Australia in 2020. This model is iX3 from one of the most prestigious BMW company. BMW is set to give a tough fight to German model Taycan and is also strategizing on making an entery into the mid-sized SUV market. iX3 is an all-electric version of the previous BMW version “X3 version”. It is the only pure EV available on the market.

Presently iX3 is in concept form that shows a 70kWh-including battery that is capable of generating more than 200kW of power for the wheels. This provides a running range of more than 400km. According to the BMW, iX3 model is equipped with a 150kW rapid charger, with which you will be able to upgrade your battery pack easily in less than half an hour.

There are speculations that BMW’s iX3 can also use 2 of its electric engines to generate a remarkable 400kW output. At this point of time, the 0 km/h to 100km/h speed is expected to be achieved in a period of less than six seconds. The iX3 is all set for its launch in 2020. It is definitely going to be a huge competitive clash between the top electric car models in the SUV market.

 

Volvo V40

The next-generation Volvo V40 is a small sized premium hatch that is going to be offered for the 1st time with a complete electric powertrain option. The usual D4, D3, T5 T4, and T3 badges are in the queue to continue. The new V40 model of Volvo will be sharing a lot of mechanical and design fundamentals. Its dynamic driving character coupled with the brand-new layout packaging done in clever packaging and modern construction will be a remarkable sight to watch.
